Our Mission

Our History
With only one production under its belt, the EttaGrace Black Theatre has established itself as a vital element in the Salt Lake City's Performing Arts community. Recently honored with the 2011 'Spirit of Delta Award' for Outstanding Community Services, EttaGrace takes its place in the valley to enhance the cultural and artistic atmosphere of Salt Lake City.
Co-founded in 2010 by Melissa E. Adams and Toni Lynn Byrd, EttaGrace Black Theatre, named after their grandmothers, focuses on producing African American theatrical material, both classic and new works, which seeks to promote an awareness and deeper understanding of the black community's contribution to the American cultural experience, past, present and future.
EttaGrace Black Theatre is dedicated to producing plays of the African American theater, which enhance and enrich the community. We are devoted to promoting black artistic productions and providing and supporting a positive environment in which to develop talent and desire.
